The public speaking world lost a dear friend and colleague today. Dr. Stephen Covey passed away in Idaho this morning, surrounded by loving family and friends. He leaves behind a powerful and positive impression on those who were fortunate enough to have encountered him.

The author of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” founded the Covey Leadership Center which later merged with Franklin Quest to become FranklinCovey Co. Covey’s book sold over 20 million copies and can be found on the bookshelves of millions of businesspeople world-wide.

Dr. Covey parlayed his successful book into an equally successful presentation. During his speaking career, Covey also spoke on leadership, priority setting, crisis management and dispute resolution.

We here at redPropeller had a long-standing relationship with Dr. Covey. During our ownership of Five Star Speakers it was our privilege to have worked with him on many projects, and we’d hoped to continue that relationship. He and his associates were consummate professionals, experts in their field and dear friends. We are heartbroken at his passing and extend our deepest condolences to his family and co-workers.
