By Rodger Dean Duncan. You can read the full blog here.
The Duncan Report has enjoyed a loyal following of readers around the globe. When I took a sabbatical from the blog to write a book, many of our readers sent email messages and asked “Where are you?” When I saw some of our readers at conferences and other professional gatherings, they often said “Why did you take me off your list? I really miss your blog posts.”
I don’t think I’ve ever quoted Arnold Schwarzenegger. But in the words of his title character in The Terminator, I’ve been telling people “I’ll be back.”
Now I am.
We’re happy to re-launch The Duncan Report. As always, our emphasis is on thoughtful pieces about leadership, change, organizational culture, human performance, and all subjects involving “people issues.”
Many of our posts will be immediately topical, related to current headlines. Others will be more “evergreen,” addressing subjects of timeless import.
Next week we will launch a series of exclusive interviews with people who have interesting (even provocative) things to say about human performance. Our first few guests include:
Doug Conant – former CEO of Campbell Soup Company and author of the bestselling book TouchPoints.
Dr. Laura Schlessinger – author of twelve bestselling books and one of the most listened-to talk show hosts in the history of radio.
Jim Kouzes –author of the bestselling book The Leadership Challenge.
Ann Rhoades –former Chief People Officer at Southwest Airlines and author of the bestselling book Built on Values.
Dr. Edgar Schein –professor emeritus at MIT, widely regarded as the guru of corporate culture (he is credited with coining the phrase), and author of numerous bestselling books on culture and leadership.
Jodi Glickman –communication expert and bestselling author of the bookGreat on the Job.
Mark Sanborn –renowned speaker, leadership consultant, and author of the bestselling books The Fred Factor and You Don’t Need a Title to Be a Leader.
Erika Andersen –bestselling author of Growing Great Employees and the upcoming Leading So People Will Follow.
Marianne Jennings – highly regarded scholar specializing in ethics in business, consultant to many Fortune 100 companies, and bestselling author.
Stephen Sashihara – president of Princeton Consultants and author of The Optimization Edge.
We’ll also be posting some video interviews. The first two will be with Stephen M.R. Covey, author of the bestselling book The Speed of Trust; and Dr. Brent Peterson, bestselling author of Fake Work: Why People Are Working Harder Than Ever But Accomplishing Less, and How to Fix the Problem. Stephen and Brent are great friends and amazing professionals, and I know you’ll enjoy hearing what they have to say.
Like you, I’m a very busy person. I don’t read or watch stuff that doesn’t add value, that doesn’t make me think about things in fresh ways, that doesn’t cause me to challenge my own assumptions about important issues. So I’ll respect your time. I’ll post blogs designed to stimulate, educate, provoke, inform, inspire.
When The Duncan Report lands in your in-box, I hope you’ll take a brief break from your day and join us in the dialogue. Remember, our primary purpose is to help smart people work smarter.
